An Investigation on Eco Friendly Self-Compacting Concrete Using Spent Catalyst and Development of Structural Elements

The theme of this initiative is "Waste to Wealth." Construction materials, particularly concrete, need have better qualities, including strength, rigidity, durability, and ductility, because Oman's construction industry expanding. Self-compacting concrete (SCC) has more benefits than regular workability. major focus study the C30-grade SCC for control mix, spent catalyst (zeolite catalyst)-based SCC, development RC beam's flexural behavior employing catalyst-based SCC. preliminary main are two outcomes included in project. Preliminary research involves creating four mixtures with various dosages 3%, 6%, 9%, 12% order optimize C30 grade concrete. All cubes undergo a 28-day curing test. cubes' compressive strength tested establish ideal dosage, which 9%. Develop modified design mix accordance chemical admixtures such as superplasticizer (SP) at different dosages, like 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5%, using trials tests (slump flow, L-box, J-ring, V-funnel, U-box tests), well optimized dosage (SC). includes six singly reinforced beams dimensions 750 (L)×100 (B)×150 mm (D) that were cast laboratory. After period, specimens placed under two-point loading setup, remaining samples receiving optimum superplasticizer. Universal Testing Machine (UTM) 1000 kN capability. From study, partial substitution cement (SC), it was found 9% produces greater compared other doses, almost 10% rises 28 days period. Based on test, discovered dose 3% SP gave closer agreement satisfied per BS standard. load-carrying capability 21.7% higher beams. Comparing beams, their deflection reduced by about 26% same load level, ductility rose 33%. Comparatively beam, stiffness 21.6% also rises.
